Doseline

Support

Doseline is made by one person. Write to me and you will get a reply from the person who wrote the code, not from a ticket queue.

It helps to include your iOS version and the app version, which is printed at the very bottom of the Settings tab.

First, the thing that explains most other answers

Your record is on your phone and nowhere else. Doseline has no account and no server. That is the point of it — see the Privacy Policy — but it has two consequences worth knowing before you need them:

Getting your record out

Settings → Export produces a PDF summary written for a clinician, and CSV files of every record type — doses, weights, measurements, side effects, protein and water. It hands them to the normal iOS share sheet, so you can email them, save them to Files, or print them.

This is free, unlimited, and will stay that way. Export a copy occasionally, especially before changing phones.

Fixing, backdating or deleting an entry

Every record in Doseline can be edited after the fact, including its date and time. Nothing is locked once saved.

Reminders are not arriving

Work down this list; it is roughly in order of how often each one turns out to be the cause.

  1. Permission. iOS Settings → Doseline → Notifications — allow notifications, and check that Lock Screen, Banners and Sounds are on.
  2. The switch in the app. Reminders have their own toggle in Doseline's Settings, along with the time of day they fire.
  3. A Focus mode or Do Not Disturb may be silencing them. Check whether Doseline is allowed to break through the Focus you use at that hour.
  4. The reminder time may already have passed for the day it was due. The reminder fires at the time you set, not when you open the app.
  5. Low Power Mode and a device that is switched off both delay delivery.

Reminders are scheduled by iOS on your device — there is no server pushing them — so they are subject to whatever your device's notification settings allow. Do not rely on the reminder as the only thing between you and a missed dose, and never take an extra dose because a notification did not appear.

Erasing everything

Settings has an option at the bottom that permanently deletes every record the app holds. It cannot be undone and there is no copy anywhere else, so export first if you might want the data later. Deleting the app removes its storage too.

Moving to a new phone

Doseline does not yet sync between devices. Two things will carry your record across:

A number looks wrong

Tell me, and include what you expected and what you saw. Reports about the dose arithmetic — milligrams, millilitres, U-100 syringe units, reconstitution, how much is left in a vial — go to the front of the queue ahead of everything else, because a wrong number there is a wrong injection.

One thing that is not a bug: the "in your system" figure is an estimate from published half-life values, not a measurement of your blood. It is expected to differ from reality.

Requests and feedback

Feature requests are genuinely welcome, especially from people actually on treatment. If you are asking for something the app deliberately does not do — a suggested dose, a target it picks for you, a streak that punishes a missed week — I will explain why rather than ignore it. Those omissions are decisions, not gaps.

Doseline is not medical advice and support is not clinical advice. I cannot tell you what dose to take, whether to skip one, or what a symptom means. Those questions belong to the professional who prescribed your medication. If you think you are having a medical emergency, call your local emergency number.
